2019 Comprehensive Community Needs Assessment

Why are we conducting the Comprehensive Community Needs Assessment?
  • Identify and prioritize current needs of impoverished and vulnerable individuals.
  • Identify current services in light of identified needs.
  • Identify opportunities to respond to the needs of impoverished and vulnerable individuals in our community.
  • Identify opportunities for agency networking and collaborative programming that address identified needs.
  • Provide data for program design and evaluation.
  • Provide data to demonstrate how funding requests address identified community needs.
  • Educate the community at large, local and state government, and philanthropic community about identified needs.
  • Advocate on behalf of those who don’t have a voice.
Who do we interview?
Targeted low-income and vulnerable populations.

Who conducts the interviews?
Interviewers are trained representatives of social services agencies, they can be both staff and volunteers.

Where do interviews take place?
Social services agencies (Partner Agencies) where individuals seek assistance with life's most basic needs. 

How long will the interview take?
Interviews are estimated to take anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes each. It depends on the complexity of the individual's needs and the conversational nature of the interview. 

Will there be training available for interviewers?
​Yes, training is required for anyone conducting interviews. Please visit the Interviewers Page for training details.
Training will take approximately two hours and includes a review of each question as well as basic ethics to ensure the protection of those we interview. 

What questions are we asking?
There are 100 questions with more than 400 possible responses. The survey includes questions about economic wellbeing, demographics, and are divided into several areas of study including, education, employment, healthcare, housing, transportation, and more. 

Once you are trained, you will receive a certificate as well as login information to access the survey link.
