2013 Objectives

Create an up-to-date housing availability database easily accessible by community agencies serving clients who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. By June 2013.

National Low Income Housing Coalition - 2013 Out of Reach Report





Prior to conducting the Comprehensive Community Assessment, network members identified the following priorities for housing:
  • More decent affordable housing for low income people (long-term)
  • “Responsible Tenant” certification course for housing voucher recipients (short-term)
  • Transitional Housing (long term)
  •     from Street
  •     from Shelter
  • Housing Plan/Project for youth aging out of foster care (mid-term)

Within this field we recognize the needs of sub-populations including the following:

  • Chronic substance abuse
  • Elderly
  • Ex-offenders
  • Homeless
  • People with English as a second language
  • Persons with cognitive disabilities
  • Persons with HIV/AIDS
  • Persons with less than a high school degree / GED
  • Persons with physical disabilities
  • Severely mentally ill
  • Unaccompanied youth (under 18)
  • Undocumented immigrants
  • Veterans
  • Victims of domestic violence
  • GLBTQ (Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning)
